B3-3.2 Touring In South Africa

Post by MCB » Sun Jan 10, 2016 11:06 pm

I had very nice e,mail today from the previous owner of our car. He found some old pictures of when the car was in South Africa and thought I may like them for the history file.

Hard to belive it is the same car under all that dirt . But he did assure me the car was hosed down every day after he had been out.

I wish it still had that number plate. It would be worth more than the car

He was over there about four years. I have all the receipts for work carried out by the main BMW dealership whilst he was living there. Paarlberg BMW.

The car was only 4 years old when those pictures were taken.

Looks like it may have had a tough life out there but great to see a touring being properly used. Glad it was fitted with the mudflaps as think of the stone chips without them

Yes it did have a tough life while out there. But you should see all the maintenance and cleaning records. He spent a fortune on the car and all with BMW

You only have to look at the car today to see how well it has been cared for during his 17 years of ownership.

With the South African plate - I think the car knew that it will move to Essex

The A12 is the main road A road in Essex - I know bad joke  :D
Oscar Wilde & Burkard Bovensiepen: I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

It is not a South African plate. It is his personal UK plate that he had put on the car when he bought it from Sytner Warwick in 98.

After living in South Africa for a while he registered it there and sold the A12 plate. When he returned to the UK he then bought the plate that is on the car today.

Yes, I know the A12 very well. It would be nice to have that plate still on the car :D
