e30 c2 2.7
Sytners never had the C2 2.7 engine capcity changed on the V5's. Infact nothing was changed.
My own C2 is listed as a stock 325i with 2494cc on the V5. Thats how they did it then. Just adds to the importance of having the original service book to prove its provenance. Theres lots to look for on a genuine a car its knowing where to look!
Every E30 Alpina ive had has been the same, i've had 3 now.

"Lots of small volume manufacturers make mistakes" ???? ermm i dont think so, if "small volume" manufacturers started to make mistakes on logbooks that would cause quite a issue, cant be printing random engine sizes on logbooks....
You may have lived happily ever after but others would have concerns if they had a 5.0 litre car listed as a 4.3... If its not that much of a problem, then why not simply ring DVLA or the manufacturer and rectify the mistake on a new V5 instead of having a bunch of paperwork?
As i have said i wasnt having a go at the chap, its just the way things where put into words, whereas im not to happy about you saying i was showing attitude and being patronizing.
-Simon13 if thats the case then why are all the other cars i have shown photos of coming up as a 2.7?

When we queried one or two cars a few years back with Sytners (and this was when they were open to talking to you about historical cars and conversion carried out), most of the cars were never registered from new with the change in engine capacity or the change in model description and remained as the base car. Rightly or wrongly this was how it was unless the owner requested this to be done.(although I have seen one or two with the larger capacity shown but a latter owner could have registered the enlargement a few years down the line).
However looking through records we did track down, the 2nd owner of 2 different cars DID change the capacity to 2.7.
I've had 5 Alpina's all from either 84 to 93 and the only one that had any change on the documents was the e36.
But this does raise the issue of insurance in todays market, so its always wise to let them know what you have, but if you go through a specialist broker, they'll know anyhow.
Good thats its being saved, good luck on the project.

Thing is you can get the log book changed to whatever you want in some respects! There will be a few where jobsowrth owners havce changed it.
Heres the evolution of how its gone from the Alpinas i've owned.
My 1988 E30 is down on the V5 as a bmw 325i with 2.5 capacity becuase thats how they did it then.
My 1996 E36 B3 which is a buchloe built car is still down as a bmw 328i BUT..... the engine capacity is down as 3.2 which is correct for the car
My 2004 e46 B3 is down as a BMW alpina B3 with the correct 3.4 capacity
So it only took till the e46 era for sytners to be bothered with the V5's
My imported 1992 e34 bi turbo was down on the log book as exactly what it was, no doubt because it was imported.
alpinaBT am i allowed to say your attitude is quite annoying? Heres my facts from the log books in my possession
More to the point where are the pictures!

Not annoying Simon just trying to put a point across but no one seems to get my point, page 2, five pictures of different alpina's all registered as 2700cc except one.
I'm not talking about the make and model, I have not mentioned that, what I meantioned was the engine capacity....
Many people seem to believe that the e30 alpinas were registered as having 2500cc engines yet not one car on the register is down as a 2500cc... That seems a little odd considering people on the register own a c2 2.7 with 2500cc yet neither one has added there's to the register a part from the ones who have them down as a 2700cc.
