Either they didn't get the credit they deserved, or have become forgotten sincetheir heyday. I think the e12 M535i falls into that category. As fast as an original Jag E-Type, or Ferrari Dino 246 GTS (7 secs 0-60 mph, 140 mph) Similarly, there were the blown Y block Fords, that had the HP Mustangs had 10 years earlier. Which other cars would you add?

I took an E12 M535i out for a test drive in Aberdeen about 17 years ago. the dealer was looking for 3995 for it I seem to remember. Great car to drive with a dog leg box.
At the same time another local dealer had a mint 2002 turbo for 8995. Should have bought that but I bought a E30 320i convertible instead!
