Color advice new D3

Post by German » Sun Mar 22, 2015 12:56 am

I am almost ready to order a new D3 sedan with LSD.

Main options are alpina blue, saphire black or silver, professional gps, harman, blind spot assistant, heads up display, + 2mm thicker steering wheel, lavalina 1 leather.

Do you have some outside and inside color combination recommendations? I'm somewhat agonizing over that decision and would appreciate your help.

I'm not sure silver suits the F30 that well. ALPINA blue has always been a huge favourite of mine and if I was ever lucky enough to order a brand new car I think that would be my choice, but the black is going to look very good too.

Agree about silver. It is starting to loose my interest as a darker outside color seems to bring Alpina's to live with those gorgeous Alpina wheels. Black or Alpina blue are my favourites right now. Need to decide the interior colour and i'm browsing through the Alpina Archive as there are many pics with lavalina leather. Dual colors seem modern 6-7 years ago but maybe not anymore today. Piping seemed also popular at the time while stichting seems now more trendy. Any suggestions are welcome.

ALPINA Blue and the matt aluminum window trim! Looks great.

Interior, I like the Cashmere Beige Merino and the Luxury wood trim. It looks classic.

You have got plenty of time to make up your mind. The BMW/Alpina facelift is due out in May and Alpina can't take an order now until that is announced. I have already booked my place in the queue and we are awaiting BMW's unveiling of the facelift. Expect new infotainment, slightly sharper interior trim, LED as an option, new nose and boot lights.

I don't think these colours be available but velvet blue and carbon black exterior with some cream interior with purple striping on door handles and striping to lumber support bit and rear head rests finished off by Alpina logo in the the seat backs with the same purple flashing

Piano black trim also

Alpina's deserve rich colours - IMHO. Alpina Blue and Green always work well - and should have an interior that compliments.

I am not a huge fan of black leather as it looks "too common" even in Lavalina. However my bicolour Red/Black lavalina interior was very nice - with the seat centres being red and the main pack 2 being black.

The Lavalina side of the purchase is the part that interests me most

From my side I will be visiting a dealer in May to discuss options - if they can "do something" with the Morgan (which incidently has a bi-colour interior (quilted grey alcantara on mulberry leather) I may well move back to Alpina as the "sensible" option.

Thank you all for your advice and suggestions. As it stands now, it will be blue alpina, black lavalina interior with blue piping and stitching. I thought a light interior would be better but that will be when i retire. Now i just have to wait for the delivery end Sept 2015. Can't wait...
