This is assuming you are in the U.K. From what I understand from reading various posts is that after 1999 you could buy your Alpina directly from Sytner in the UK and therefore the car should not be classed as an import after this date.

Each year I have difficulty getting quotes for my E93 B3 cabriolet as the insurance sites rarely have the exact model details for my car. Finally renewed with LV. Go Compare and Compare the Market and A PLan seemd most helpful.
Good luck!

I pay about £650 through Fresh insurance on my B5.

Fully comp with whistles and bells.
I thought that was quite good

thanks for the reply.... I was hoping for something around the 600-700 mark on the insurance I will try the companies suggested.

Had my renewal through from A-Plan for the B3s...They want £368, which doesn't seem too bad but will still check for a better deal! :D

Interestingly, LV won't insure my car due to engine size!

Any B3s owners found a good deal lately?

I'm currently with Sky Insurance for my D3 MT. Renewal came in at £375 with £350 excess. Was hoping for it to be cheaper given I'm late 37, 12 years NCB. LV were £100 more. Adrian Flux said their figure were coming in a lot higher. A Plan £700. Why do I never get a decent deal or am I being to optimistic in my hopes ?
