I did actually discuss this with Andy. I asked about costs and referred to the B10 V8S as the comparison. Andy was clear that the costs shouldn't be in the same ballpark.GuyW wrote:I think the new ALPINA Blue brakes look fantastic.neil wrote:
The D3 gets the same discs and pads - Brembo
But does ALPINA having switched back to using Brembo brakes and pads mean that the parts are going to be special order from a dealer and very expensive?
The setup is a combination of 3 things:
Brembo Calipers
Pagid Pads
and BMW Performance Discs
I don't have figures for a replacement cost but should be less than the M3.

That is an excellent combination. Callipers shouldn't ever need replacing, and Pagid pads are good and reasonably priced. BMW discs are what they are, and will be cheaper than the drilled M discs.
I remember a review of the D5 saying that they do start to fade when used on a track, so these uprated brakes for the B3/D3 should be more than man enough given they are 300kg lighter than the D5.

Alpina is bringing cool and interesting new products.
I always wondered do they have their own wind tunnel for aerodynamic testing?
They add the front lip extension and rear spoiler to almost all their models and never new for sure how do they test them before approval, in their own wind tunnel or renting somewhere else?
