Just over a year ago, you may recall that our Au Pair's car was reversed into just outside our drive. Since then, things have progressed at a glacial rate, ending in a small claims court hearing the other day where the barrister supplied by my insurers chose his own route through the case rather than taking instruction. Ultimately the case was lost on grounds that would have been covered by following the proposed instructions. Frustrating but hey!
Anyway, whilst my insurers had very kindly reinstated my NCB because they believed my case, they had witheld my excess pending the court case. Fearing that I wouldn't see it again, I tried a "firm but polite" email outlining various points and, lo and behold, they have agreed to repay me my money.
Not sure how much faith in insurers this has restored but at least we can count this as one for the little guy.
