D3BiTurbo saloon #097 SOLD
With a very heavy heart, as per title, the time has come to commence parting with number 97. There are a variety of irritating personal reasons for the sale, mainly revolving around my need to get into an automatic at the end of the day. To that end, there is no rush or pressure for me to sell and the car will stay available until sold to someone wanting an exceptionally well-cared for D3BT.
The sale price is negotiable around current market values at the time of sale, and will also depend on where she sits in the maintenance cycle ie if I perform work prior to sale, or if it is to be done by the new owner on its due dates when I will reduce the price accordingly. There is a 1st MOT due 01/03/12 along with a major service. I will of course be maintaining the car to the highest level until she leaves me, and she is booked-in for the service already at the end of Feb.
In short:-
Currently showing 17,500 miles but will increase slowly
Although the miles are low, she has covered all of them in out of town driving, generally at or near national speed limits, so the DPF should be very healthy.
1st Registered 01/03/2010
Sytner demo car, which I purchased from them May2010
Currently taxed until end August
Sapphire Black metallic
Full graphite ALPINA stripe kit
Black Dynamics, totally unmarked but can be changed to silver at Platinum wheels for around £350 all-in if they don't appeal in black *
Black performance grilles, plus the original set of chrome grilles which came with the car when purchased should you wish to go back to standard
All badges etc are perfect.
Michelin PS2's all-round.
Other than a few of the usual stone chips, the paint is in very good order and there are no dents or scuffs.
Standard half-leather interior which is totally unmarked
Overmats almost as new
BMW Performance Alcantara/leather Steering wheel - change-up lights, coolant temp, G-force etc etc
Always garaged and meticulously cared-for.
No finance used, so Hpi clear. This may of course be confirmed by a potential purchaser.
Power, sublime handling, practicality and good looks: a fabulous car which will prove massively challenging to replace. Please pm me in the first instance if there is any interest/questions.
* If any prospective owner wishes to see what she looks like on silver dynamics, I can fit a silver Roadster dynamic wheel to her for visual comparison.

Cheers!jamesa wrote:Good luck Ade, what auto are you looking for ?
Depends very much where we are financially when/if the D3BT sells. Quite fancy one of these. If you put 2 and 2 together, you may work out why we may go for the cab....

No intention of leaving the brand if at all possible, MNL. Can't state 100% it won't happen, but we're trying our best!I_MNL wrote:Sorry to see that you have to sell your car Ade

Thanks all: and @ Perry, you are so right, my friend.
Brian, we intend keeping the RS for now and seeing how things pan-out....I'll explain a little more to you privately. I can drive the RS quite well atm, and cope with all 3 manual cars when I need to - fortunately the torque of the D3BT lends itself to laziness in gear-changing, and you know well how low the RS revs will go so a degree of laziness is possible there, too: they are very flexible engines. So, I can cope atm, but my condition is worsening much quicker than originally anticipated. The important thing is to move #097 on to a new keeper in due course, and wait and see what becomes available before a choice is made. Importantly, the D3BT seats are magical for me, which is why something similar in construction will be the desired replacement. Seats are the most important aspect: followed by an auto box, now. As a point of note: the seats in the Astra crucify me in 30mins, and other cars even sooner. I can undertake a 4 hour journey in the D3BT seats and get out and walk...just. The only problem I have with the RS seats is that they are a long way down

Do you think any prospective purchaser would notice if you swapped the BT seats with those in the Astra?ade and liz flint wrote: Seats are the most important aspect...

But then I still have all-manual 'boxes, and let's be honest, the Astra is only here to do certain tasks and long-distance cross-country running is not its forte Work-horse it is: comfy it ain'tPerryGunn wrote:Do you think any prospective purchaser would notice if you swapped the BT seats with those in the Astra?
