Invasion of the Lakes 12-14 October
Just wondering...whose of you going there?
Maybe meet somewhere and go as a convoy?

I'm not going out of principle due to the issues i had to deal with at the Welsh weekend. Also as the previous chairman organised it, its probably going to miss the best parts of the Lakes anyway! (Just like the Welsh Weekend nearly did!)

I'm hoping with the recent departure of the chairman that the issues and attitudes will change.
There seems to be a great concencious from the board members of finding out what members think and looking into ways of improving the club, so fingers crossed!

..and as 2 disaffected ex-members who have had reservations of the benefits and worth of the BMWCC and consequently gave up on it, we would agree with the above. Maybe including ex-members in the process (if the club still has their contact details) will help return some of them to the fold.E24man wrote:Rule 1. I gave up any interest in the Scottish section a long time ago. There were some decent people trying to run things north of the border but the head office was a different ball-game. There's enough politics in daily life witthout having to suffer it in our free time.ade and liz flint wrote:..and as 2 ex-members who have had issues with the BMWCC and consequently gave up on it, we would agree with the above.

Sorry, i had no intention of doing so or starting a debate! However i will suggest these options at the Chairman's meeting on Nov 3rd. Good suggestion you have made as to ask the previous members why they have left, and hope that they will act on it!ade and liz flint wrote:..and as 2 disaffected ex-members who have had reservations of the benefits and worth of the BMWCC and consequently gave up on it, we would agree with the above. If anyone wants to express they're opinions about why they left and also what they want the club to do more of or better, drop me a PM and i will anonymously express these concerns at the mentioned meeting!

No problem at all. We were recently asked by another member to put together our reasons for them to forward to the club but we haven't been able to get round to it (it's been a few years since our involvement, and memory is a bit sketchy and we don't wish to seem/be half-assed about it). We will see again if we can put something together for you OR we are happy to be contacted by the club...our email is still the same as all those years ago even if our address etc is not.shaziman wrote:Sorry, i had no intention of doing so or starting a debate! Importantly, JH has gone so it will hopefully be run less as a jolly for his best mates, and more a club incorporating those with a love of the marques who wish to show their support of the clubs' events and be supported by the club. We've been known to travel quite some distance to support ALPINA events, and even arrange events for ALPINA enthusiasts to visit our local area and enjoy their cars, but the BMWCC has to-date seemed a rather distant and less welcoming organisation.
