19" runflats on a 335i
Some advice please. A friend has a 335i cabrio, possibly 08 (non Alpina). She is thinking of changing her tyres to a smaller rim without runflats as she has had 6 new tyres in 18 months (not sure if this was wear or down to punctures)
What are the issues to address if she goes down to 18" non-runflats? Could she go to 17" rims?
Knowing the expertise on the forum, I am hoping someone can give good practical advice. Thanks in advance.

She can easily go to 18" as the 335 has the same brake hub-size as our D3BT's. 17" will be a squeeze, but will possibly fit (depending on style). Going down to an 18", she will need to increase the tyre profile slightly, but any tyre supplier worth their name will give the profile numbers based on her tyre size choice - her owners manual should also contain this infoBoxster convert wrote:Some advice please. Other point....going non-RFT, she will need an emergency repair kit in the boot. Easily available; BMW can supply (just over £100 was my quote for the Roadster as our can of gloop is out of date and no longer available...so a new complete kit is required with new-style compressor and that was the full kit quote), or look at alternative, cheaper sources.

I know...but the gloop pot we need is a different type and has been superceded, but it's not compatible with our older-type compressor. Don't forget, I have both types and they are not interchangeable...I checked already. I questioned Notts parts about the canister I need....no longer available Soooo, it's a complete new kit or risk the OOD canister in the event of a puncture on the RoadsterD3orbust wrote:There are a couple of BMW AD's that sell the 'gloop' via Ebay, the price usually has a discount applied.

Think it was about £180 from BM Mini parts
