Goodness!

As an aside, (and a genuine thought, not digging at Ade's post) at what point does mileage become cool? Low mileage is cool, average is just that, and above average is just a pain. But at some point, stellar mileage on a nice car is quite cool

Agreed on the sentiment and I'd suggest that Mr L has just entered the cool phase 8)

But it's only cool if you've no intention of selling

Like it :D

Having recently refurbished both the engine and gearbox, I'd like to think there's another 150k miles in her until the next engine rebuild

And having just flown through the MOT, I'd like to think things are looking positive - particularly as the 2k miles a month I do are mainly motorway (A34/M4).

And one final question - what would I replace her with?

On that basis, when does "cool" become "sub-zero"?

200k is 8) in my book. 500k....get your woolies on 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

But what do I know about stellar mileage?...nothing really, but do admire someone who loves their (rare) car so much that almost anything is deemed repairable to keep her moving. Most we've had on a car was 128k, and all of the current fleet are below average miles and will remain so.

Ade I always run my cars into around 200k mark which includes my own E34 520i, Volvo 360GLT and the business own 760GL, 740GLT and 940 Wentworth. But my baby outside I will see it will pass that mark in a few year times which is in a better state than all the pervious car I own/company own.
After this summer mine it will be passing the 250k km mark or 156250miles. :D
