Just a quick update:

The car is now with me but the body shop need the car back to finish off the snagging. Same with the interior as we ran of of time. 😓

All in all she looks stunning but a bit of a shame I was not able to complete her in time for Silverstone.

The brakes and suspension is all that is left to do.

Hope to see and meet some of you at Silverstone.

Rear subframe out and all bushes and vibration absorber replaced.

Rear diff bushes replaced.

My tech noticed the handbrake shoes had a few tiny cracks and there were no rear trailing arm bushes supplied, and recommended I replace the wheel bearings.

Bmw managed to get the wheel bearings kits in this afternoon and the rest will be with them by midday tomorrow.

One of my Techs (Big time Bmw enthusiast!) will post more photos and he has recorded a few videos.

Great work Sab
Reminds me of the suspension rebuild I did on my e36 M3 evo

You weren’t tempted to paint all the suspension components then.?

Hi Mick.

Yes, I did want to have the bits painted but was unable due to the logistics not working. So, I’ve decided to get this done next year as I want to enjoy the car following the detail.

Brakes.

Cheers Phil,

You’ve decided to go Gaydon then 🙂.

I better get on and purchase the tickets.

The techs advice is to take it easy for 100 miles to allow everything to settle in before the beast in her can be unleashed on occasion. Having said this, driving her home following the wheel aliignment was like driving a new car with a more comfortable ride (almost soft) and the car felt so planted on the road with improved acceleration in every gear.

27/07/18 - Got her tracked and locked her away as I needed as rest to recover from the past 3 days at the garage and 5/6 trips to BMW for parts.

28/07/18

Put some mile’s on her today for the chassis to adjust and settle in and will do more miles tomorrow.
