Collecting Cars Event - Silverstone 4th Feb

Post by Paul0568 » Sun Feb 05, 2023 12:10 am

I had a run out to Silverstone this morning. There were a few Aplina's present.

This B5 Touring looked stunning (#299). Perfect spec for me!

I also attended, shame I didn't meet you chaps, saw your B3S CB 987, lovely car. 8) Didn't see your D5 Paul0568. Also loved the B10 V8 that was there.

The B5 is mine, thank you for the kind words, it's a recent acquisition :D

Nice meeting, but dominated by Porsches!! Lack of catering was disappointing.

Good to see that Alpina owners continue to be unable to park between the white lines

I was there too and passengered with my good friend Rob in his F10 B5 (#003) where I can confirm all 508hp were put to good use.

Met with Metrics and saw his gorgeous B5 Touring and it was nice to see your B3 S Touring too CB 987. Hadn't realised it was ex Chris Harris until I was doing some research for a post on my Instagram feed (@forgottenukcars). Missed the B10 unfortunately.

Sadly I couldn't be there in my own Alpina as it's currently SORN while I keep it away from the bad weather but good to see others out there using as intended.

Thanks for the interest, yes I understand it was ordered new by Sytner as their demonstrator and went straight to Chris Harris on long term loan when he was at Autocar. I’m not sure who the second owner was, but I understand they put approx 60k miles on it during the first 3 years, before Hodge purchased it.

It’s only done another 60k in the 16 years that followed!

Cheers.
