Mine is stuck open
Anyone know how to fix?
I can poke it with a stick but it springs open again

Is the vacuum pipe attached to the valve mechanism?

It is at the exhaust end
Any ideas where the other end is ?
Presumably somewhere around the inlet manifold ?

On the E36 (may be totally different i know but ..) the vacuum pipe comes into the engine bay near the fuse box on nearside under the scuttle.

At a meeting in London earlier this year i asked a mechanic to have a look at mine.
One end of the vaccum pipe is connected to the side of the exhaust back box. Remove this and see what happens.

I cant remember what he said, but when he removed the pipe, the valve moved and got stucj one way.

Give it a try.

Thanks for the tips Rav
Mine is jammed open due to a lack of vacuum that holds it shut so I must have a leak in the system
Will hopefully get a chance to check it out at the weekend

Maybe this will help the vacuum pipe comes from an electric valve supplied from a reservoir, problem is more likely in that area
