E65 B7 60,000 Pounds - Really
B7
To clarify, in none of these posts have I indicated that my vehicle in my view is worth anything like their quoted figure. Secondly, I have no intention in selling it so in that respect it is academic.
I have discussed with my insurer the value should it be written off, the advice is that it would be valued at market value in the UK at the time. That is a lottery as to the best of my knowledge the Khan is the only one for sale?
I would not give you 60K for a Japanese imported car and I dont like the interior of the vehicle it looks very outdated.
It is correct my car has exceeded 100K, but I bought it to drive and not leave in a garage, it still has Fully comprehensive BMW Warranty and suits me, which is the only person it needs to please. All the time it still works and keeps me satisfied it will be of great value to me, no matter what estimated price anyone else should wish to speculate.
It will be interesting to see if anyone buys the Khan car, perhaps the
question to Khan should be why are they so deluded. Even if it sold tomorrow for 60K, I would not be parting with mine.
I had to smile the " B7 at Khan looks immaculate" I should hope so the same poster says he thinks its worth 25K at most, they are asking 60K, that is 35K to make it look immaculate, I would expect it might be, they have had about 2 years to clean it.
Whoever, does buy the Khan motor really needs to think hard about any warranty and if it comes from Khan can they guarantee parts would be available and what exactly does it cover? We all know the supercharger failure replacement costs, but thanks to warranty cover I did not have to fork out on a catalytic converter and the pipework ( B7 has 2), the boot cylinder and pump ( 3 times failed), passive control module ( nearly 4K in labour cost to find), sat Nav hard drive, rear electric seat failure. Also be aware the correct tinted and rain sensor screen costs 1400 pounds, I had mine replaced after agreement with A Plan my insurance broker. So at 60K its sounds like its going nowhere and will remain immaculate?
Oh mine has had a supercharger under warranty as well, happy motoring!

Re: B7
That sounds like a great advert for ensuring you have warranty on anything expensive these days!Norrie wrote:Whoever, does buy the Khan motor really needs to think hard about any warranty and if it comes from Khan can they guarantee parts would be available and what exactly does it cover? A gent with a B5S has had over 40K yes 40K of warranty work done on his car, so no warranty, deep pockets if anything goes wrong and it can.
These cars need babysitting, to ensure the correct parts fitted and correct filters etc, it is no good expecting any dealer to know. That unfortunately includes Sytner, the reason being whilst ALPINA has a dedicated brand manager they do not have a dedicated Service manager or service advisor. I found one time I went to Nottingham and spent 30 minutes explaining to the people I was paying over 100 pounds a hour labour that the car was not a 750i, 745i, 735 etc, and that the oil filter was different. The guy had only been there a few weeks and worked at Nissan or Ford or something, pretty worrying. I now source all parts that are not under warranty myself from correct part numbers and give them along with the oil I want to the BMW dealer to fit. I have owned the car nearly 7 years.
Therefore for the person who buys this Khan B7 ask me if your dealer does not know and I will give you the part numbers for the plugs, filter, rear springs etc.
60K is not achievable from anyone who has a clue, but nor did I before I met SPA 69 and only because of his knowledge did I buy an ALPINA. Oh and no I did not pay 60K for it and yes it had 12 months warranty from Sytner Nottingham. It is still in good condition, well good enough to win a regional concours with the BMWCCGB this year, but not immaculate as I actually have driven it for over 60K miles and took it to the factory in Buchloe. The interior seat have all be recut and refurbished and the alcantra headlining professionally cleaned, the mats are new and only used for show purposes. The vehicle has only ever once carried more than one passenger in 7 years, no food, drink or smoking has ever been permitted since I owned it.
