At least this advert is factually correct. His ph ad was a load of Swear and I told him so. Front end is tatty, and oddly this car rings a bell with me from past that says ' beware' .

23MY Cupra Born V3 77kW in Aurora

I know nothing of it's history, although it is odd how far out of sequence the build number vs date of registration is. Most other 05-plate Roadster S's are in the #150-250 range.

**Edit: looking at the MOT history, it failed in 2014 for mis-aligned headlights. Front-end damage repair, maybe??

Well...the tyres! For a start the rears are the wrong size: should be 265x30.... although that may be an error by the assessor. Budget, too: nice!

This car is massively ringing bells as I know the reg from the past. I think it's been talked about on here previously: possibly a long time ago. Terrible condition, really: quite unloved. Shame

Interesting SH  No essential Running In service performed, either :hand Other than the Running In service, which should have been done at Sytner and therefore recorded in the service book, I wonder if some SH information was kept as paperwork and hasn't been passed on. Lots of places now no longer stamp books: BMW dealers are woeful at it, as we've had to return myriad times and ask for this minor matter to be corrected
them: 'it's now done electronically, sir.'
me: 'Both please....'

Roadster S wanted?

Post by Wobblewing » Tue Oct 23, 2018 1:03 am

Are you still looking for one?

I've been toying with the idea of selling mine (although not sure if I can bring myself to do it, it's an excellent car - haven't advertised it, but if someone came all enthusiastic I might be tempted) .
It's still totally original, got the wheels refurbed earlier this year with a new set of michelin's all 'round. Everything is in good order - Service is due though, I was going to get it done over the winter. Need to get the MoT done next month too.

I've been keeping it fully garaged for 7 years when not in use (throughout my ownership) and I know the previous owner kept it in a garage too..However I have recently moved house, so having to keep it outside on the driveway at the moment - and it's getting wet :-( It's been my daily drive, but I've got an electric now (sorry) and hence too many cars to justify (did I just say that?).

It's number #339 in alpina blue (lux pack) - it's on the register (FJ05 plate). It's at about 80k now (will check exactly). Ade saw it once at a get together at Sytners a few years ago now (in fact he helped advise when I bought it)
It hasn't changed much, I just put about 30-35k on it, but it's still looking and running nice as I've been tickling it with nice towels and some expensive polish, whilst topping it up with its favourite tipple.

Will be clearing out the garage at my new place to 'fit it in' over the few coming weeks (as per normal, the garage gets stuffed during the house move)!

Indeed I did, Andy! It was a truly lovely example, and I also remember how you fussed over it  Could be a good buy for someone.
