Someone has dymo taped "Alpina B2.5" into the fuse box Laughing
Looks genuine enough to me but with the caveat that a B2.5 is just a cosmetic Sytner special edition.

Not quite the engine was remapped , had different cams and exhaust alpina suspension but some retained m tech it was mildly tweak over and above the 325 of that era afaik it was quite expensive for the upgrade and only 200 built under licence

I reckon that is a B2.5, many have no idea what they were, but even now thats a high price for a car that looks tired. But it has the non staggered wheels by the looks of it.

Hard to tell if it is a genuine B2.5 unless it has the original build sheet. This is probably why the seller is only advertising it as a replica. I notice it has an aftermarket exhaust instead of the Boysen one that would have been on it originally. It does have original Hardline wheels though which are getting hard to find nowadays.

As hap said it was an expensive conversion to be added to the cost of the original car. Shortly after Sytner obtained the licence to built 200 of them for Alpina the M3 was launched for about the same money. Therefore most buyers for the B2.5 migrated to the M3 so subsequently only about 64 of the 200 were ever completed.

Fortunately or unfortunately depending on which way you look at it I have one (number 0492001) which I have since found out was a Frank Sytner demo car & featured in Autocar 1992.

Will be interesting to see what it finishes up at though, not that I would want to sell mine yet Razz... There is just something about that E36 shape.
