Ceramic Coating

Post by MickB3 » Wed Sep 20, 2017 12:08 pm

Has anyone had Ceramic Nano Coating applied to their car?
I saw a couple of cars that had been done at a local show in August and talked to the guy who had done them. (Automuz).

I have to say I was impressed and it came with a 5 year life claim.
I just wondered if anyone had any experience and was it worth the price tag.

Cheers

I have had https://gtechniq.com/about-gtechniq/platinum/ on my last two used cars. It is a car dealer only product but there are other treatments in the product range.

This product has a five year warranty, their Crystal Serum has seven years.

Cost was ~ £500 for a medium sized sports car and for me it has been well worth it. The finish is swirl / blemish free, it is also applied to the wheels and calipers.

I am convinced that it does protect, after 8,000 mostly A & B road ... all year round miles the finish was still superb.

Also, cleaning the car is so much easier.

I think ceramic coatings are well worth the effort

I've had a full compliment of Paint/Wheels & Glass from various providers Gtechniq, Carbon Collective etc.

The guy I used was Aaron @ www.deepimpactdetailing.com. Give him a call he'll talk you through all of the options. He's impartial when it comes to the best product for each circumstance.

Cheers

I believe Carbon Collective is the same as Gtechniq, just in a rebranded bottle and a little cheaper......

i've just had gtechniq crystal serum applied, had gyeon can coat just over a year ago, both excellent coatings, just the longer life of the crystal serum made me go that way

Being an older car it will / may require some serious `preparation` prior to the coating application ... which will increase the cost significantly.

This was the case when I inquired on gtechniq for some family two year old / 40k vehicles ... I soon `backed out` when the potential for a large bill loomed !

My son did the 11 year old B6 which i think came up pretty good.
Get a DA with good quality polish and pads and have a practice yourself.
Certainly save a few quid, and the satisfaction of standing back once you're finished is one of the best.
I've spent many a Sat night in the garage polishing

Ceramic for B6

Post by markrob » Sun Oct 08, 2017 11:35 pm

I just took delivery of my 2018 B6 in Mineral white and immediately had it coated(silver package) with ceramic pro. Also had windows and wheels. The car looks absolutely gorgeous. There is a 5 year warranty with the silver package
