Alpina D3 biturbo touring no. 44

Collected this yesterday. Number 44. Presented in Bluewater Metallic.
She's covered 80,000 miles, has a near full Sytner Nottingham service history and has had no expense spared.
A previous owner (who's on here I believe) had the seats retrimmed in OEM BMW black Dakota by Sytner when I purchased it, had the dash inserts done in alcantara and fitted the BMW perfomance gear knob.
I've come from an E91 320d and can confidently say the Alpina is a far superior car.
The car is in great condition but the wheels could use some attention. I'll likely get a loan of some wheels in spring and get the Dynamics refreshed. Other than that it's very good condition for 80k.
Purchased from James Paul in Sussex. I'm aware of their colourful history but I went with and open mind and the car was fine. I had asked for pictures of the wheels prior to going but never got any, this was my only gripe over what had been told to me. I managed to wiggle a tiny bit off the price for this, more a gesture of thanks than anything I'd say. The steering wheel was sitting slightly off to the right but the car was driving straight. Nick, who id been dealing with took the car straight to the workshop they use and it was sorted in 20 minutes, no questions asked. All in I'd say a good service with a typical sale.

Plans for the car are to have the wheels refurbished, fit a tow bar to cart my race car about and generally just enjoy it!

The aforementioned race car is my MNR Vortx Fireblade. I built it in 2015 for hill climbs and sprints. It was my first foray in to proper RWD motorsport. It's a cracking car. So compliant, so forgiving, so fast.
This year I competed in 3 hillclimbs. I took home a Fastest Road Car and a Second FTD. The second FTD was an "upgrade" from a class win. Really happy with that.
Next year will see more competition once I get a trailer.

Congratulations on the purchase. It looks very clean and tidy! I like the alcantara touch on the dash.

I'll keep an eye out for you in the area.

Congrats on the purchase, it's a lovely looking car and the performance grilles suit the car really well.

Did you drive up to Aberdeen from Sussex? If so what a fantastic long drive to get used to the car and how it feels and drives. The Biturbo engine must be noteably stronger than your 320d? What sort of mpg were you seeing?

Love your other car, must be the perfect car to enjoy on early drives out in Aberdeenshire?

Yessir. Drove it up. 580 miles in about 10 hours.
The engine is much better. It's the best diesel I've ever driven that's for sure. Very linear power delivery as opposed to the usual small usable area of the power band commonly associated with derv.
The car returned 55mpg on the way up, averaging a tickle over 70mph and in cruise control for the best part. Better MPG than I've ever seen out the 320d.

One thing I want to look at are the engine mounts. The gear shift waggles a lot on start up and I think the gear changes could be smoother. Are these common to need changing?

It wont be the engine mounts, its the gear lever bushings. Easy repair to do and gives a lot more driving pleasure
