D3 MT Torque / Flat spot?
D3 MT Torque / Flat spot?
Had my E91 D3 MT for a couple of months now and though well happy have a couple of questions about the power delivery. From what I can gather they're Laggy as hell and stalling them isn't uncommon lol.. Had it on the rollers to check all ok and came back with near stock figures. .193bhp and 299 lb/ft. ..max torque at around 2800rpm..is this normal? Plus when revving out and changing up it feels like there is a delay in the turbo spooling up (if that makes sence). Are these the characteristics of the mt or should I be investigating further?
I read all your comments with great interest.
My D3 MT is exactly the same. Before the turbo kicks in mine (feels like a huge loss of power) really backs off and hen the turbo kicks in. So what would any of you recommend be done.
Mines done 144k and is on the motorway 6 days a week.
Have I got a problem?

Well it should be quick (well quickish 0-60 in 7.2 seconds) but the M47 engine can have a few issues that slow it down. Consider checking out:hicky73 wrote:I read all your comments with great interest.

for anything above 90k miles id also consider removing the throttle body, EGR and other inlet components. Mine were completely gunked up with carbon deposits causing me to have a big loss of power. Also due to low inlet pressure readings the DPF was not regenerating.
Former Alpina owner. Having a break.
Thanks Paul. I will definitely look at the items you have mentioned and will let you all know the outcome.
