The sign of things to come for the D5?

Spotted this article on a Quad Turbo M550d in Auto Express and wondered if a future D5 would make use of it?

Interesting one this, So the D3/D4 will no longer be the fastest diesel in a BMW shell (only just at 4.6 seconds).

Presumably if the D5 was fitted with a 3 litre 6 cylinder offering four turbos, the same would apply for the D3/D4. The weight difference would make it quicker.

Four turbos? A lot of things to go wrong under the hood!

Think several journalists have had the car doing 0-60 in 4.1s, from memory there was an article on how Alpina are generally conservative with their performance figures instead of the usual automotive exageration!

Do hope the government decide to stop treating diesels like the plaque, so we can experience an Alpina breathed on Quad
Nothing to see here.... move along in an orderly fashion please!

Even though Alpina led the way with the D10, they always do their own thing...can't see them copying BMW in that sense personally. The results can be fantastic without the need for such fanciness!
