Cold start problem E46 B3 3.3

Post by Scotty82 » Sun Jan 08, 2017 3:40 pm

Any ideas please. When i start my car from cold it starts perfect for about the first ten seconds then starts to rough idle and stalls. I restart the car and it normally idles rough for about 30 seconds then is totally fine after that. I cant seem to find any vacuum leaks after the maf sensor but that doesn't mean they aint 1 as i cant get to half of it. I had the idle control valve off and give that a good clean but that wasn't the problem. Maybe a better way of detecting a vacume leak?? Or any other ideas please

I dont but had it on a while back and it had 2 codes on 1 relating to maf sensor and the other to the auto box which i know that 1 is sorted. I have just put the car in my friends garage today to get the exhaust fixed and told the about the cold start problem and the battery drain that is going on so fingers crossed they sort it out as they said they would look at the other problems to

Had the same thing with our B3 3.2. It turned to be the cam sensor.
