Roadster trip to France

Post by Number5 » Wed Nov 02, 2016 11:52 pm

Myself and a few boys from the Z4-Forum recently took a four day trip over to France with a handfull of ///M Roadsters and my Alpina #019

Sailing into Cherbourg meant within an hour we were well into the beautiful, empty roads of Normandy and with the sun shining we managed to enjoy four days and 500 miles of proper roof down driving:

Here are some of the photos we managed to snap:

Now that must have been fun.

I wouldn't mind an Alpina roadster to add to the garage!

Superb and very artistic pictures. You should turn them into a 2017 calender. It would look great on any petrol heads wall 8)

We did indeed. You dont see many German cars let alone sports cars in Normandy. I think its the fact that there is no tax on French made cars so everyone just drives Citreons or Renaults.

Town centres did stop in awe whenever we rumbled through !

i bet! how does the alpina compare to the z4M as the 3.4 i bet makes lightwork of the Z4s frame. Pretty close id say in a drag race?

Officially I think the M is 0.1 sec quicker 0-60 but the M is topped at 145 whist the Alpina goes on to 164/169 roof up. The Alpina is lighter and has better downforce aero dynamics but only 300bhp compared to the Ms 340bhp

One of the cars on the trip was a standard 3.0si and we all kept pretty level. You run out of road, or bottle, well before you run out of power !
