Alpina at Goodwood 23-26 June 16

Despite mud, rain and high humidity was great to see the Alpina Nottingham team in their own stand at Goodwood Festival of Speed. Gary Lott and Jonathan Noy on hand with other colleagues to answer questions.

The new B7 on display, worth going to see alone. We are a group including 5 Alpina owners and had a great day, back tomorrow. Anyone else been or going?

Went yesterday..at least no rain and the ground eventually dried up..

Went yesterday Sat, with a friend and his family. Still slightly muddy with sporadic down pours. I had an interesting conversation with Andreas from the Alpina Germany team, concerning the new B7. It seems at the insistence of BMW that the whole drive shaft and axel and wheels mechanism is different to the previous B7 models from 2003 onwards. The wheels will not interchange so one cannot put the new design wheels on say an E65 or newer, up to the age of this model 2016.

The model they had on show had 20 inch wheels, it also does not have 4 wheel drive which seems to be the BMW way forward and we saw the new 760i V12 Xdrive, which is slightly faster I believe than the B7 on the 0-60.

There are currently no orders for the B7 for the UK, but I am sure the Sytner sales team are working hard on that aspect and it was great to see a new B7 in the UK even if it was a LHD version and its off to the Ukraine after this show.

Andy Bovenseipen was on the stand yesterday late afternoon and we had a brief chat and I thanked him once again for the great hospitality at the 50th Celebrations.
