Re: Alpina Factory Tour
This is well worth a watch, a good hour in the factory and some chat about their future. I hate to think what a factory restoration would cost though.

2001 E39 525 (sold happily)

Re: Alpina Factory Tour
Watched it this morning. Really interesting.
It got me wondering about what, if anything on my G21 B3 Touring would have been done at Buchloe v at BMW. Do all cars go Buchloe before delivery?

I'm sure I read the front and rear spoilers are all applied at Buchloe? It would be nice to think our cars passed through their workshop!
It's a great video though - well worth a watch.

Love the line at 21:00.
"There was a test between a ceramic brake, there was a test between a carbon composite something brake and our normal steel brake from the B5…. The B5 just stopped better than everybody else."

Great video, nice being reminded of my factory visits, Alpinas hospitality is legendary.
Their standard of work and attention to detail is second to none.
Who needs another car when you can own an Alpina
They are getting out at the right time, EV is not their ethos, thank goodness.

Re: Alpina Factory Tour
I'd love to visit there sometime. Is it still possible to arrange a tour though? I think I remember someone said you can no longer do a factory collection?B10BRW wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 8:22 pmGreat video, nice being reminded of my factory visits, Alpinas hospitality is legendary.

You're absolutely right though - Alpinas can do it all. For me, they make the perfect family cars - practical and comfortable when you want it, but still fantastic to drive when you want to push on. It's a huge shame the way things are changing forcing it to come to an end - sad times. The new direction does sound promising though.

Re: Alpina Factory Tour
Alpina have not had their factory open to group tours for a long time , the last time they opened their doors was for the 50th celebration, which was a fantastic dayScooBeeFive wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 10:31 pm

The visit by the guy who restored the B7 was probably a one off, and it did give Andy a good platform to inform people in which direction Alpina was going.
If my experience in having my B4 BT serviced at the factory is anything to go by, their costs will be very reasonable, although the cost of Oil was eye watering
