Has to be an Omega for personal reasons.
It's what I've always wanted and what I will end up getting.
Found out about the Speedmaster Moonwatch and love the look of it so that is what I would like to try and source.
Not bothered about diving to 300m so the lack of waterproofness is not an issue and the fact is is a wind up suits me too.
Didn't have to be a full auto and the fact that it has been to the moon and back and works in space is quite nice
Thanks for the helpful comments so far

I am into watches a bit and have a few. What about looking at Alpina watches.
A bit less known than the usual names but very good watches and excellent movements. No relationship to Alpina cars other than they once created a watch for Alpina cars for the B6 racing and I missed not bidding for one of these on ebay and it went for only £800 in the end, could have kicked myself. I have been considering one for my collection as they have some great looking watches.

Among others I have an Omega Seamaster (Bond watch), Brietling Navitimer Montbrillant Datora, my best watch and I am also into Seiko 6139's one of which I have owned since my 21st birthday, all 44 years. I have a collection of various old watches and a couple of replicas.

Thanks, I actually got it cheaper in the end as I agreed to do a bank transfer rather than PayPal so did a deal. It was like new, boxed with spare strap and with receipt from Alpina Buchloe.
I think the selller didn’t click that the Alpina car link was an advertising plus point.
I wear it whenever I go to meets so if you bump into me at one I will have it on.

I have a 1964 Omega constellation. It's old, but unfortunately I'm even older :(

Phil, What a coincidence. It is strange that a fellow V8S owner bought that watch and even stranger is that it never occurred to me at the time that it might have been a register colleague. Well I consider that to be a absolute bargain. I was so annoyed with myself as on the last day of bidding i had been watching it at work then went home and had something on that evening and completely forgot and remembered as soon as i woke up in the morning with it being the first thing on my mind. Worth a lot more especially with the limited edition link, probably £2k+ when new. Well done i will hope to see it if we meet.

You snooze you lose as they say John! If you see me at a meet feel free to check it out. It is a nice pilots watch. They are for sale from FMW in Germany I think but I don’t think they are the limited edition watches for the B6 ADAC win which is what drew me to this particular watch obviously.

The Alpine Startimer Pilots watches are very classy and I really like the pure functional look of it. I snoozed !!!
