Steve Sutcliffe again 'writing' for AutoExpress. He loves it - his favourite long term car EVER!

I have noticed something curious about this and other reviews. No-one comments on the weight advantage that the D3 has, indeed Steve in this review and previous says the D3 is heavier than the M3. Its not!

This is probably because BMW talk about all the weight saving measures that went into the M3 (carbon roof, aluminum bonnet, light-weight brace etc).

The truth is the manual M3 is 10kg heavier and the MCT M3 is 50kg heavier than a D3. D3 - 1585kg, M3 manual 1595kg and M3 MCT 1635kg.

And the written article of the long term test.

PS Steve Sutcliffe has left Autocar and joined Auto Express, and it looks like he took his ALPINA D3 with him?! Its the same number plate.
