Engine Bay Photos

Post by ollieebmw » Thu Aug 04, 2011 5:41 pm

Greetings.
After careful thinking I decided not to clean my engine bay but get a professional company to do it and observe. I must admit it was a relevation. Most impressed with the guy who did the job and it took him about 70 minutes. Now i'v seen him do it may tackle it next time. Everyone should have this done to their engine.....

It looks brilliant.

Personally I've never seen the point of cleaning an engine, I'd rather spend the money and/or time on something else, but that's just my personal take on it and not intended as any criticism.

I take your point but I spend so much time cleaning and waxing it's just another thing to make the car look good. Will definately do it when i sell her....

:) I like it, but then I'm a bit OCD when it comes to the roadster, as I clean & polish the engine bay every couple of weeks

Excellent result Ollie! 8)

I'm currently gathering the parts to replace the crankase breather valve and pipework and renew the drivebelts, which,
along with these piccies of yours,
might just inspire me to get the cleaning gear out when I've fitted them

I do like that, I always think that when you have maintenance work done, that if they find the engine bay immaculate they are more prone to be more particular, especially as any errors are more easily seen. Out of interest which company did you use and can you give us an approximate cost.

Cheers

Greetings.
Great point about how garages view your car when they see a spotless engine. I always make sure my car is clean on the outside and the interior so they should take more care with greasy fingers and muddy boots lol. Got mine done at my house from a company called All that Gleams.

Hope this helps.

Definately like a clean engine bay. There's nothing worse than having gleaming polished paintwork, then opening the bonnet to see a scruffy engine... . So good job :)
A pic of mine which is still as clean because its been sat under a cover for the last 3 months....

Thank you for not calling "cleaning" "detailing".

Looks great.
