m5 touring spotted.

Spotted a m5 touring today and by god did it sound good. I was driving along my local dual carrige way when i heard this allmighty roar. I turned my head to see a black M5 touring i think he just pressed the loud pedal. Just as i looked over and i have to see it did sound like the gods had WOKEN. Being a Alpina fanatic i would hope the B5 touring would sound somewhere near as good if not better. I have heard a b5 touring excellerating on you tube but not in the flesh if sounds half as good as the m5 then Alpina has become more special to me than it allready is.

From standing on the pit wall at Donington last year and listening to all manner of Alpinas/M Cars blat past, I can safely say that the B5 (saloon) sounded a lot better than the M5 (saloon). I doubt either of the tourings would sound much different.

Let's not start another "Which model sounds best" debate, 'eh?

I hope you are right Alex. I think this m5 could have had a few mods eg; exhaust's. As it did sound wickedly loud.

it's interesting - at full chat the B5 sounded better than the M5 (when we saw them both at Donington)

But i've driven both and from the driving seat I prefered the more vocal soundtrack of the M5 over the B5.

I suppose it depends on frame of mind.. the M5 is much less civilised and more thuggish... but then again.. I like that sometimes..
