I copied the following from https://www.tuv-nord.com/en/emissions-s ... zugeordnet

Foreign vehicles

How are foreign vehicles assigned to pollutant categories?
Vehicles registered abroad also require environmental stickers. Licensing regulations govern pollutant classification and related issue of stickers for vehicles registered abroad. In case of doubt, classification is performed based on the year in which the vehicle was newly registered.

Do restrictions in German environmental zones also apply to foreign vehicles without a relevant sticker?
Yes, traffic signs marking entrance into environmental zones are regular and generally applicable. This means In other words, foreign cars must also observe such traffic signs.

As the owner of a vehicle registered abroad, how do I obtain a sticker?
You can conveniently order the emissions sticker online. Environmental stickers can be ordered easily online. Simply fill out the order form in German or English.

Do I absolutely need a sticker for my car in order to enter Germany?
No, you can continue travelling in Germany even without a sticker. You will only be barred from the environmental zones.

We bought ours on line from

www.tuev-sued.de/auto_fahrzeuge/feinsta ... nd/england

It cost 15E including the postage. They cost 5E if bought in Germany from a dealer. You need your V5.
It only took 2 days to arrive. Worth the extra to save the hassle.

In this morning's post I got a box from Alpina with a numbered display sticker and an event instruction booklet.

The box was damaged in the post and I'm interested to find out if there should have been anything else in the box. If you entered the concours as well there was a separate sticker but as we are only in for the competition I didn't require the other sticker.

So what was in your box?

I assume everyone will receive a box by post, not only those attending the concours?

Thanks for this I had a look the other day but cannot see any of the areas I will be travelling through on the list. Unless I am wrong.

It seems from another forum and people here post on it (I do not) that this green sticker mainly applies if you are going into major city centres. So me for one will get one if stopped by the German police but I do intend staying away from these restricted areas.

I have just reread my invitation and no mention about dress code

Did I read somewhere on the forum that we need to wear a suit or something similar?

I thought the dress code was going to be the biggest challenge but it starting to look like the weather will be! According to the forecast I have just seen thunderstorms are on the cards :(. Would be very sad if Alpinas birthday is marked by the weather...
