G21 B3 Tyre Pressure and/or resetting warnings

Post by Mannginger » Tue Dec 05, 2023 9:19 am

Hi folks

I'm getting a tyre pressure warning when all 4 are c2.8/2.9 bar while cold.

I know the recommend pressure is 3.5 bar but that feels very high (I'm not doing 150mph+ runs)

Autocar suggested running them at 2.7 bar: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/al ... op%20speed.

So the question I have is how do I tell the car to ignore the recommended pressures? Is anyone else running a lower than reccommended pressure?

Gratuitous pic just because...

My car is pre-LCI so bear in mind my menu might be different to yours.

On the tyre pressure monitoring screen there’s an option for tyre settings.

Within that menu there’s a drop-down that says load status.

Within that you have the option to select partial load. If you select this the car will tell you to drive at 155mph max(!) and I believe recommends pressures on the TPMS monitoring screen of 39-41 PSI (2.7-2.9 bar) depending on ambient temperature and axle. I suspect you’re in the full load setting in which the car is happy for you to put in maximum effort up to 186mph or whatever but also wants the pressures to be higher.

I usually run at 39 PSI cold all around and have never had warnings (except for actual punctures!).
