My B5 comes with the totally useless can of tyre gunk, but there's a nice space for a spare, my question is is there a rim that would fit the E60 B5 and clear the brakes that BMW fit to another one of their cars as a space saver?

Our B3 has a steel rim as a spare. Not sure on the size though. The thing is that having different size rims front and rear would mean that you could not guarantee having the correct size wheel in the event of a puncture. I have noticed a warning sticker on the inside edge of the tailgate warning of the different wheel sizes that are fitted to the car.

My B3 came with a 17" wheel with a tidly 135 tyre on it and a 50mph speed limit.
It did manage to get me home
Don't know if 17" would clear B5 brakes though

Has the B5 got Brembo brakes fitted?
On a mission to burn as much fossil fuel as possible before it runs out.

no, they are BMW ones from a middle eastern spec 760il IIRC.
