Winter Wheels for B4S

Post by b0ardgamer » Sat May 26, 2018 5:02 pm

I'm hopefully taking delivery of my new B4S next month. :P

But Winter is Coming! I was expecting to buy a set of winter tyres and stick them on my summer wheels. However I'm starting to appreciate that the choice of winter tyres to fit the summer wheels is somewhat limited. So before I start looking more carefully at my options, has anyone here got a set of wheels (with or without tyres) that they are looking to get rid of? They don't have to be Alpina, but they do have to be reasonably attractive. I believe the original winter wheel size is 245/35 19 (there's also an 18", but I'd prefer 19" if possible).

My D4 Alpina Supplement book shows that tyre size, the 19" wheels being 8x19 with an offset of 36 on the front and 9x19 with an offset of 47 on the rear. A B4 may well have the same size wheels as mine as the tyres are the same. I got a used set of genuine Alipnas with the correct Continental tyres from an alloy wheel specialist in Germany. They weren't cheap but were in excellent condition with I suspect at least two winter's tread on the rears, more on the front.

Anticipating your question, https://premiumwheels.de/en/ which I think will be in English.

@Hap - it looks like the offset on Robert's wheels doesn't line up with what Hector's Dad suggests I might need (36.5 & 35 vs 36 & 47). I'll ask Alpina to confirm the figures. (I've PMed Robert anyway, to see if they're still available.)

@Hector's Dad - thanks. I've had a look at the site you suggested but they don't seem to have any Alpina wheels of the right size for me at the moment. I'll keep an eye out, and try to negotiate some of the other german sites. (Ja, ich spreche Deutsch!)

For the records, Alpina have confirmed that the offsets for a B4S are indeed ET36 for the front and ET47 for the rear.

@b0ardgamer ...sorry but I bought the wheels from Rob... and just checked the offset of my D4, which is also ET36 & ET47. Guess I should have checked that before buying them! :-/ According to the Alpina Supplement for the D4 the approved winter wheels are the 19 inch Classic design; front 8 x 19 EH2+ ET36; rear 9 x 19 EH2+ ET47. Recommended tyres are 245/35 R19 93W M+S Continental ContiWinterContact TS 830 P - same as the wheels/tyres that came from Rob.
