Hello, I’m hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. I’m looking to buy an E91 D3, I’ve seen a few being offered for sale but they seem to have higher than I’d like mileage or be out of my price range. Am I being realistic hoping to pay between £5000 and £7000 for a car with about 100k miles on it?
The ones I’ve seen so far are:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x/285267173107
This one’s ideal except for the price.

I like this one but the mileage and price are higher than I’d like and It’s a long way from me.
The mileage on this one is too high for my liking but it’s good to know they can do that.

This is ok but 170k miles puts me off. There’s one like this for sale near Cardiff on Facebook but the mileage is about the same.

Any help will be gratefully received.
Cheers,
Alan.

Hi OP,
If the lowest mile one you've seen is more than double your budget, then I'd advise that the budget may need reconsideration?
That said there's nothing to stop a conversation happening with either a dealer or an owner, to see if there's leeway in their prices.
Good luck with the hunt!

Hi Hooneybadger,
Thanks for taking the time to reply,
I’ve struggled to find much information on the tourers, I've been reading that a member on here had a cracking looking car for sale for around £8k. I’m guessing he sold that as the thread went quiet some time ago.
The really nice one I’ve linked to that's £15k as far as I can learn has been for sale for months and although it looks lovely it seems to be very ambitiously priced in comparison to the other saloons and tourers that’s either for sale or have been sold recently. Obviously the tourer is a much rarer bird but I’m hoping the price has some relationship to the saloons.
Thanks again for the reply.

Re: Looking for an E91 D3
I honestly think a 100k mile BT touring in good condition with a good history you’ll be doing well at 10k. I bought and sold my E91 in the £6-7k range, and that was 145k miles when I bought it, nearer the 160k when I sold. Loved it. Spurred me on to stick with the brand and get an F31 D3.
I would say don’t be concerned about the miles at all and focus on condition and history, especially on the D3’s, they’re the perfect daily and I dare say are better used regularly by which point they will have miles by now. Maintenance is everything.
Good luck.

Re: Looking for an E91 D3
Hi Davey_A,
Thanks for the input, I’m coming to that opinion on the mileage. I’m torn, I like the mechanicals of the D3’s but the looks of the BT’s. I’m seriously tempted by one of the cars I’ve seen advertised but as it’s a BT I’ve got concerns to overcome. I’ve owned a 1 series with the N47 engine so I’m familiar with the problems they can have. It’s also tempting to play it safe and get a decent spec normal F31 as the money seems to be about the same.
Cheers,
AJ
