Re: F10 or F11 D5 or B5 - were there any suspension or steering options?
What were you hoping to hear? (I was hoping to hear that Alpina made all the right suspension and steering choices for new car buyers so they couldn't get it wrong, with the result that used car buyers such as myself have it simple.) And honestly, I think ALPINA have made the right choices. As an a...

Re: Apple Car Play
Are you running ID6? If so it will be an easy upgrade to CarPlay.
If you’re running ID5 then you’ll need a box.

Re: Help D5 with a Cracked Spring!
The (mildly) good news is I’m 99% sure the dampers are standard BMW VDC versions, so supply shouldn’t be an issue.
Good luck!

Re: F10 or F11 D5 or B5 - were there any suspension or steering options?
What were you hoping to hear? All I will say is ALPINA are masters of chassis set ups for daily & fast road use. Any F11 ALPINA will fulfill your criteria of comfort, composure and fun. At the very least the car will have VDC which ticks the right boxes for your criteria through Comfort +, Comfort, ...

F10/11 D5 had VDC dampers as standard. Adaptive Drive optional (adds active roll bars).
F10/11 B5 had VDC & Adaptive Drive as standard.
I think Integral Active Steering was optional on both, but I’m not sure.

Re: It’s no Alpina but I like it.
Lovely cars - congrats. And the S6 is very Alpina - a stealthy, under the radar wagon with a V8. Most will think it's another S Line A6, which is perfect. Will be interesting to hear your reflections on it with time.

Lovely car. Azurite is a lovely shade - a bit like Carbon black with a rich blue tint to it in bright sun. And love the plate!
Enjoy!

Re: ZF8 Fluid Changed
Interesting write up John. Trouble is it's pretty much impossible to know if the analysis that's come back is normal or not. The only way would be know what it's looked like at say 20k miles, then 40k miles and then 60k miles. But there's also a risk of overthinking about these things. Enjoy the car...
