| Review: | The ALPINA D3 does 145mph. And 600 miles on a tank. Steve Sutcliffe is impressed, even though his Nectar account has taken a nosedive.
ALPINA has serious presence
Power Delivery
Power band is pretty narrow compared with other cars, but we're getting used to it as the miles go by.
Luggage space
Boot is of a reasonably decent size, but it's not as big as I've been used to of late.
Equipment
Not that much standard equipment, but at £26,995 it still seems like reasonable value.
Seats
Seats are of the firm but comfortable variety, but they look a little bit too plain, which is a pity.
Steering wheel
Steering wheel is genuine ALPINA item; feels great in the hands and comes with the traditional coloured stitching.
Economy
Fuel consumption is hovering around 38mpg mark, which gives a real-world range of over 600 miles.
Looks
Love the way the D3 looks; people think it's the new M3 - until they see this little word on the front splitter.
Wheels and tyres
19inch wheels and Michelin Sport 2 tyres look sensational and don't ruin the ALPINA's ride in any way.
