Car Details:
Alpina BMW C2.5 1988 – A Classic, Rare Car - one of only 74!
This is an excellent example of an early E30 3 Series Alpina C2.5, which has only done 53,500 miles.
Alpina C2 2.5 (F43 HCH) was built in September 1988 by Sytner, Nottingham and run as a demonstrator for 9 months. It was bought from Sytner in June 1989 when it had done about 6000 miles. Since then it has been in the same family, driven only by three mature drivers! From 1989 until 1994, the car was used for daily commuting, pleasure and the occasional business trip. It has never been used for competition or racing, and has never been involved in an accident. From 1994, it has been used occasionally. However, it has been well maintained, with yearly services, and any minor problems dealt with immediately.
It has a full service history, an MOT that runs until April 2007, and is taxed until January 2007.
Diamond black, with light grey cloth interior.
Alpina alloy wheels, all recently refurbished at a cost of over £1000.
All tyres replaced within last 1000 miles.
Stainless steel, bespoke exhaust.
Electric slide and tilt sunroof.
Driver’s sports seat.
The car is mechanically excellent, with vibrant performance, handles well and is a joy to drive. The bodywork is very good for age, although a few minor repairs are needed to make it perfect.
This is a reluctant sale, but as it is used very much as a second car, it is time for the Alpina to go to an enthusiast who will appreciate its handling, power, good looks and rarity.

Car Details:
This car is a Sytner conversion based on a 1985 323i, with electric windows, mirrors & sunroof, sports seats, Alpina steering wheel & gearknob, and an Alpina 2.5 engine based on a 525e block.
Exterior bits include Alpina skirts & front spoiler, and I've just added an M-Tech I boot spoiler.
The car was re-shelled at Autobahn in the North-East by the previous owner (hence the loss of the original boot spoiler), and re-sprayed in an unknown shade of silver; I know this because I bought some Polaris silver to paint the spoiler and it doesn't match!
I bought the car from a dealer in Newcastle in September; it has 210k miles on the clock, and it is my daily runner. Last Updated: 11:06 PM, 3rd November 2005 Car Added: 2nd November 2005 |

Car Details:
This modern day classic is in excellent condition reflecting its low mileage (62,700) and TLC by its 2 owners. First registered in 1984 with Alpina conversion carried out by Sytners in 1987. Conversion costs at that time circa £6000! Very few C2 2.5’s were produced, one article on the history of Alpina indicating only 74 built. It’s performance and handling is excellent, and I can confirm reviews that describe the incredibly smooth revving engine as turbine like! Economy averages out at about 25mpg. Alpina Conversion consists of : 2.5 litre Alpina factory built engine (525 block, reworked cylinder head, Mahle pistons, Remapped ECU). Front Suspension: (Alpina progressive rate coil springs, Bilstein telescopic gas dampers & Alpina suspension top mounts giving geometry for improved handling characteristics). Rear Suspension: (Alpina minibloc springs, Bilstein telescopic gas dampers). Alpina alloys - 7*16 (front) and 8*16(rear). Alpina body pipework, Alpina 4 spoke steering wheel (momo), Alpina rosewood gear knob, Dash Plaque (production no. 507). General Details: Sunroof, electric mirrors, central locking. Philips Radio Cassette with multi-changer CD. Alpine/Kenwood speakers. 62,700 miles (with only 43,200 on Alpina engine). Private reg plate. New rear tyres (Falken 7mm), Front tyres good (Michelin Pilot 5 mm). Full 2 stage anti-corrosion wax injection. Cobra Category 1 Alarm with certificate of installation. Mul-T-Lock. Scorpion stainless steel exhaust. Taxed till end April 2005. MOT April 2005. Eligible for Classic insurance Condition: Excellent throughout. Interior near mint. Original paintwork excellent, although some work required to address minor surface imperfections. There are very few of these and there is absolutely no rust perforation on any panels. Boot interior and carpet excellent. Spare as new (steel rim, 195/65 Michelin). BMW service history to 46,000 miles, serviced by BMW licensed technician thereafter (last service 2,500 miles ago). Performance: Power - 185 bhp at 6,100 rpm, 179 1b/ft torque at 5,000 rpm. Autocar test 0-60mph 7.6 seconds, 142 mph top speed Recent work: Wheels fully refurbished. New centre badges/seals (genuine Alpina costing over £50!). Gearbox and rear axle oil replaced (fully synthetic). Rear Suspension bushes @ 46, 000 miles. Timing Belt @ 47,000 miles. New rear crank seal (Clutch and gearbox bushes replaced as a precaution while box off) @ 58,000 miles. EBC vented & grooved discs, front and rear. EBC Green stuff pads. Goodridge stainless braided hoses (all 6). All brake work less than 200 miles ago. New battery. Rolling road tuned at 62,300 miles. New ignition leads, rotor arm & plugs.

Car Details:
I purchased the car 2 years ago initially to restore myself. I have not been able to do as I planned and have since bought another one ( Black C2 2.7 based on a 325i Sport) which will be available to veiw on this site soon.
G reg. Has original Alpina body kit (not on vehicle yet).Cloth interior in mint condition. Full Scorpian Exhaust fitted. Original Plaque, Alpina Steering wheel and Gear knob, also with original 16" Alpina widetrack wheels.
Basically the car is in need of some TLC - full body respray, has rust in usual places, scuttle panel has rusted on both sides but I have a new one which will be sold with the car (with the Chassis No stamped on it from BMW) which is the ONLY thing which would cause an MOT failure. Vehicle is mechanically sound!
Hoping to sell to BMW enthusiast, who would bring vehicle back to its former glory. Will not sell to someone looking to break vehicle for parts.
