W18 UNG ....or "Well Hung" As we refer to it usually -with tongue firmly in cheek.
This car has been off the radar for a long time- I only found one photo of this on the register a number of years ago.
I think the story of how I got it is more interesting than its spec.
I actually bought this car to put all the running gear in my 635 CSI ,I bought the car blind, for a ridiculously cheap price , if I had paid one penny less as would have been three figures.
It came from a chance phone call from a Skoda Dealership in Gravesend , as a independent BMW Specialist by trade I took a phone call that I only got ,because his usual local BMW contact was on honeymoon ( fortunately for me)
The dealership had decided to cut their losses after they balked at the price they were quoted on a Replacement alloy .
The B10 required a new alloy and a little attention close to the rear jacking point , where some muppet had lifted it in the wrong place. (I already had a spare set) . I didn't expect much for the price- the faults didn't matter obviously as I had plans for the mechanicals , but when it arrived I was amazed how good it was , 3 keys , full service history , original folders, handbooks ,old MOTs even all the old tax discs.
I spared its dismantling and sent it for an MOT instead where I was curious to see what was actually wrong with it, .....it failed on on the just the rear brake lines.
I've de chromed it
Run it on Super Unleaded ALWAYS
The wheels are getting refurbed
And it's going for a Terraclean
heated seats
ALPINA mats
WORKING cup holders front and rear
CD Changer
Cruise
MID/ OBC
all other usual E39 options
Not too sure about the Tint which looks purple but that's down to the interior colour - I keep it simply to stop the sunlight fading the interior/ parcel shelf .
There you have it , probably the cheapest B10 in the UK , and certainly in my opinion one of the best 6 cylinders out there .
Ok it's not a V8 , but it's got enough grunt for the daily commute.

Car Details:
I bought the car on the 12th September 2018. It's on 76k miles and has a FSH along with a massive folder of all the receipts and work it's had done. It has the beautiful Alpina cloth with walnut trim. Sunroof, xenon hdlts, etc... Michelin Pilot Sport 3's fitted, but I will change them for the Supersport when they're worn. The car is in virtually immaculate condition amnd so far I've only found 2 blemishes. A small rust spot, (less than 8mm), just below the rear n/s window and a larger one, (20mm), above the rear number plate but under the lip of the handle.
This is my daily drive, (although retired), but I have a 'weekend' car too, (911/993). Looking forward to years of motoring in a great car!

Car Details:
Genuine Alpina B10 3.5 based on a 535i sport 5 speed manual, originally supplied new by
sytner of nottingham.Dolphin grey/natural beige leather electric recaro. Alpina exclusive
number B10-5- 8296. I am told there are approx 550 B10's worldwide and only approx 100 of
those are manual,most b10`s are based on SE`s this started as a sport so it has LSD and
full Mtech bodykit from the factory. It's had 5 former keepers and has done 235K, no
service book in car, just some bills. Although it has done a big mileage it appears to
have been very well maintained is HPI clear and shows no evidence of theft or accident
damage. Since I have had it (approx 4 mths) I have had head gasket and timing chains
done,full service, wheels refurbed(properly), some suspension bushes, a brake pipe and an
MOT. The car is now very good mechanically with no nasty rattles or smoking. Bodywork is
in good condition for age with no visable rot. Interior is good apart from slight wear on
edge of drivers seat. The car appears to retain all of it's Alpina bits and bobs, i.e.
steering wheel, clocks, plaque, gear knob, wheels, badges, suspension, exhaust, Pioneer
stereo and cd changer(remote control),bmw alarm, original complete tool kit, first aid
kit, torch and handbooks etc.

Beautiful Blue V8 bought in 2005 from a chap in Henly on Thames at 82,000 with FBMWSH and warranty. Stunning grey leather interior. Went for PRE VANOS deliberately after working on various probs with that system on other cars, although that said, GOOD vanos is GOOD :-) Worst fault on these cars - the pixel prob on the dash - WTF is that all - I'll happily settle for that :-) IMHO There will NEVER be a better second hand car for the money.

It is still on the road and driving. This was settled by third party and the car is not registered as accident damaged. Any trial or inspection welcome must be one of the best and definitely cheapest available, in arguably the best colour combination.

Car Details:
I purchased this car on the 27/09/07. I am the 5th owner of the vehicle and it has covered just 87,000 miles. The bodywork is in superb condition for a 13 year old car and the engine seems extremely tight apart from a slight tapping noise at low rpm. The car feels extremely quick considering the quoted power output is around 220BHP, especially on take off. The interior is in very good condtion, particularly the leather. The car is fitted with e/w, e/m, e,s and climate control but no heated seats. The wheels are all curbed, so I shall have these reconditioned shortly. The tyres are 215/45/17 up front and 235/40/17 at the rear (no sure that these are the correct sizes for the wheels). All in all, the car is in great condition, and only needs a small amount of work to bring it up to a high standard.

Here we have for sale my ALPINA B2.5 with original build sheet.
Upgraded camshafts, exhaust system, ecu, modified rear wheel arches, steering lock limiters, 18 inch ALPINA alloys, ALPINA front spoiler, ALPINA rear wing, ALPINA wooden steering wheel, ALPINA wooden gear knob.
The car starts first time everytime at the touch of the key. It drives superb and does not overheat or smoke. Temperature needle stays central. It handles really well and sticks to the road like glue. The tyre are 235/18 fronts and 255/18 rears with loads of grip left on. Original LPINA alloys. The clutch and gears are smooth and has a lot of torque and pulls like a train. The twin stainless steel exhaust sounds nice, it purrs like a kitten. The engine is very reliable and has never let us down. We recently took it on a run to yorkshire and was averaging 35mpg so it is also very economical considering the engine size and power it puts out. Around town it still averages around 27-30 mpg if you stick to the speed limits.

Car Details:
This is one of a few B3 saloons for this year of production. I don't know whether it is an import or built by syntner in the UK. It has just stanadard BMW instrument panels rather than the traditional blue Alpina instruments. The car itself appears rather simplistic on the inside, there is no cruise control or air con but the usual Alpina standard spec is all there. The car has all the Alpina spec where it matters most though, great engine, the most amazing and legendary suspension and the great sounding Alpina high flow exhaust, with muffler/silencer. (Yes thats silencer for any Chavs reading this). The car has done just shy of 60,000 miles and is a great drive. Although the B3 is not the most powerful or exclusive of Alpinas it still draws a lot of attention and looks of envy from 3 series owners. The performance is there too and the suspension gives every bit of feedback to the driver and great grip through the Michelin pilot tyres. There are not many other cars around that will bully you in any Alpina. I definitely prefer the B3 to the M3, more exclusive and though lower in horsepower, the drive just feels better, and you have the luxury of being in a lounge at the same time. After owning one of these, I don't think I could ever spend my money on a performance/luxury car other than an Alpina.

Very clean inside and out. A couple areas of pain have minor bubbling on O/S front wing and boot.
Just had a service and new quality front tyres.
Only know fault is engine oil level warning light comes on for 30 sec after start up. I have a new sender unit but did not want to drain the oil out to fit it.
Tracker fitted and registered to me
I bought a tailor made Cover Craft Noah cover just after I bought the car.
Service history and all 3 keys present
I truly love this car, but do not get a chance to use it. So time to let someone else enjoy the experience.

Alpina B3 3.3 coupe in Cosmos metallic black, with grey leather interior. All the usual Alpina refinements, including the superb switch-tronic gearbox with steering wheel mounted shift buttons. The car is currently showing 94,000 miles on the clock, but is in daily use so this will rise.
This B3 was well spec'd when new, with a 6-CD stacker in the boot, BMW Sat-Nav, cruise control, climate control, auto-wipers, xenon lights with wash, heated front seats, electric windows (inc’ rear quarters), electric heated mirrors and multi-function steering wheel. All electrics are working, and there are no dash warning lights.
The car has 4 x Continental tyres with good amounts of tread (one brand new after a recent puncture) and is always run on 98/99 RON fuel (as Alpina recommend).
Interior is Montana grey leather, with the Alpina trimmed steering wheel, and the original Alpina mats with blue and green detailing. The leather is in good condition, with limited wear considering the car’s age and mileage.

Slightly panicking I turned to my girlfriend who's 7months pregnant with a massive Grin and she says 'if you've bought a car I'm leaving you'! Fortunately we are still together and I'm still Grining! Clean oil, great service history. Seems to have been garaged for majority of its life judging by the body and hood condition. Sounds Meaty. Average 17-20mpg around town and 30mpg cruising on motorway which really impressed me. Topped up With Castrol edge OW-30 so have to see how it drinks! Sought some classic insurance at competitive price - Lancaster insurance. Purchase a warranty with AA just incase.

Full Black Merino Leather with Alpina design (£4250). To explain, this option consists of two different things, each c.£2000 plus - The leather itself (black, soft, thick and supple with a pronounced pebble grain). And also the parts of the car covered with Merino and Nappa leather which are normally moulded plastic or leathercloth. These include:
Door trims and door inserts
Centre console
Front armrests
Handbrake gaiter
Gear lever gaiter
Lower part of dashboard
And additionally, parts covered with BMW Nappa leather:
Dashboard top (quite a large area, beautifully stitched)
Door tops
So the interior has a luxury feel akin to a £120,000 car and you might see a hint of this in my photos.
The other expensive factory extras I specified include:
Electric front Comfort seats. Softer than the standard Sports seats but give far better lateral support. The side bolsters can be programmed with the seat memory to grip just as firmly as you like, and when you turn off the ignition they relax their grip so you can get in and out easily. And the seats have other electric controls too numerous to mention!
Bluetooth phone preparation with cradle for Nokia 6230i phone (range of other snap-in cradles available). This system brings up your complete phone database on the iDrive display.
6 CD changer - a very neat one that lives in the glove locker.
Sun Protection Glazing (or what my children refer to as drug dealer windows).
Anthracite Headlining.
BMW Individuals Piano Black wood interior trim.
The interior is close to new, never having harboured dogs, children, smokers or, worst of all, an air freshener tree hanging from the interior mirror.
After delivery I had some additional work done:
Fitted a new BMW M5 multi-function steering wheel with gearshift paddles. A couple of features that my previous Alpinas did not have are that both manually selected ratios and automatic ratios are displayed right in front of the driver. Also if while in Auto you used a paddle to shift up or down, the system goes to Manual mode for about 8 seconds before reverting to Auto. Example: cruising in Auto 6th you wish to overtake; flip the downshift paddle to go into Manual 5th and use full throttle to release the extraordinary midrange torque of the engine. Overtaking complete, flip back to Manual 6th and after a few seconds you will be back in Auto 6th. This avoids unnecessary shifts down to 4th or even 3rd which the eager transmission may otherwise give you.
I found the suspension a little on the bouncy side, most unusual for an Alpina and the response to gentle steering input a trifle listless. And Autocar have mentioned a slight dissatisfaction with the B5 suspension.
After long consultations with Kevin Bird of Bird`s Garage (they also fitted the M5 wheel and paddles which is no easy task), we fitted Hartge suspension consisting of 4 new springs and 4 new shock absorbers. This was something of a gamble as they was no chance to try it out in advance, but I was impressed by Kevin telling me about the Hartge development engineer who is a suspension man to the core and really understands the ride/handling compromise.
This was a great success. At a guess, the spring rates are perhaps 10 percent stiffer at front and 5 percent at rear, but the dampers now control the car far better without ever becoming jerky. The net result is that the car rides slightly better and in a far more controlled way, every hint of bouncing has disappeared, steering response is far better because the car takes up its roll angle quickly and firmly - and without overshoot.
And measuring the ride height before and after, the Hartge kit lowers the car almost exactly 15mm each end - yet on uneven roads with 4-up and luggage one is never once aware of the bump stops coming into play.
So with the M5 steering wheel and paddles and the Hartge suspension I spent many more thousands of pounds, a total of about £10,850, but we did transform this car to something quite special - and unique - among Alpinas.
A Tracker Monitor is fitted, and I will transfer it to the new owner.
The engine is the standard scroll-supercharged 4.4 litre V8 offering a minimum of 500 German horsepower or marginally less when translated into English. The filler cap label says the car may be run on 95 octane but I have always used Shell Optimax or V-Power which is about 98 octane RON. Fuel consumption is good compared with my previous 5-Series Alpinas, currently running in the region of 26.1 to 26.4 mpg.
The car has the balance of the full BMW 3-year warranty, running until May 2009. In addition to the PDI done by Alpina in Germany it has been serviced twice at Sytner and of course the service book stamped.
The car has been kept immaculately clean inside and out. No smokers, no cats, no dogs, no muddy boots. As one of our stable of 6 cars, only used for long and worthwhile journeys.

Originally registered as AK 13, my B9 was the last B9 to be built at Sytner of Nottingham. This car is also one of only twelve automatics.
While the car is now kept as a hobby or a weekend car,I stil thoroughly enjoy using it whenever the weather allows.
Since buying the car in 2002 (after a long search) I have fitted the stripes, while they were an option my car was never fitted with them from new, and fitted a Recaro interior trimmed in striped alpina cloth.
Other work has included a top end re-build, a gear box re-build and much bitting and bobbing to retain the car's condition and individuality!
The most satisfying of the new parts fitted has been a Fritz's Bits bespoke stainless steel exhaust system. This replaced the original last year, and sounds even better!

Car Details:
Build number 6 I believe of the 64 RHD B9's.
The chassis number is 7592207.
The car was first registered on 02 06 1983 and was utilised by Sytners in Nottingham as their press car until it was sold to Crown Foods Ltd in April 1984. I have tried to find out details of its life as a press car by buying various Alpina books and magazines from the time in the hope of finding an artical with my car in it.
The guy I bought it from purchased the car in 1998 and owned it up until my purchase in October 2003. He used it for various driving days at Goodwood circuit primarily. He then emigrated to France (although the car remained UK registered). Unfortunately by the time he got around to selling the car it had spent some time in his barn and was looking a little worse for wear! We had to fly to collect the car and drive it back (never having seen it before this was a little worrying) so were hoping it would make the return journey to the UK without incident. Needless to say it didnt go according to plan but was a great experience all the same.
Once the car was back in the UK I used it for a very short time to do a track day or two before seeting about the restoration.
The first thing was to deal with the MOT and engine. £300 later it had passed the MOT (some sterring parts needed replacing). A check on a rolling road confirmed the engine to be in great health so thankfully nothing needed there.
I have replaced the interior as the previous owner had all the original bits stored in the boot so a few grazed knuckles and a lot of swear words later the interior was all in. It still needs a few bits of trim inside where things like the door cards are frayed but that is the next job to sort.
At the moment the car is in the body shop having a full respray in original black and the front spoiler has been replaced with a brand new genuine Alpina part sourced from Germany by my local BMW dealer. I am hoping to get the car back within the next week when I will sort the bits of interior out and get a few more track days booked.
I am very conscious of just how rare these cars are and all the works I am undertaking on the car are in complete sympathy to keep the car as original as possible.

Henna red with stripey Scheel seats, all original spec except for M5 arch spats and boot spoiler. 101'000 miles with history going back to 1985. Nice condition following a LOT of restoration work!
BODY: Very clean and shiny and Henna red is SOO bright. New wings and rear arches, perfect inner wings, door bottoms, bonnet edge etc. No Alpina stripes but has Alpina spoiler and an M Technic spoiler with Alpina decal goes with it. Fully Waxoyled. All correct badges are present.
INTERIOR:Totally original, has had a repair to driver's seat using correct black velour. OBC, no radio fitted (just BMW blanking plate), new SI board, original floor mats. New wooden Alpina gearknob and leather gaiter. Door trims are like new. Boot trim is in lovely nick - not damp!
WHEELS: Original 16 inch rims, restored, new centre caps, Michelin Pilot front tyres, Avons at the back.
MECHANICAL: Original engine with Alpina number. Getrag 265 (3.5) overdrive 'box, correct Alpina shocks and springs, LSD, new anti roll bar links and rear ABS hubs, new propshaft centre bearing/joint and front coupling, rebuilt gearlinkage. Drilled front discs, new pads all round and new steel brake/fuel lines.
HISTORY: Lots. This was reckoned to be the first ever RHD B9 and thus the first Alpina car built by Sytners. Full details of all owners (logbook photocopies), original Sytners sales invoice and warramty docs, first ever MOT certificate, photos taken when it was new, hanbook and service book from new etc etc. Even the BMW aerial cleaner sachet :-)

Car Details:
Built in October 1980 for a Japanese buyer.For some reason the order was cancelled,and BMW had a £15000 car on its' hands with no buyer, so the car was shipped to Guernsey, and was finally bought in April 1981 by a wealthy Doctor. He kept it until 1992, when it was exported to the UK.It was looked after by Syntner BMW until 1997, after which the history is a bit patchy, until I found her in a scrapyard in 2007. She had been very abused and neglected.The tin worm had attacked the body everywere, the engine knocked and smoked,and the interior was torn and smelled like something was rotting inside it,but nonetheless it was love at first sight {even though she was painted my least favourite colour (Kashmire Gold, with orange velour interior).The scrapyard owner didn't know what he had, but i'd already spied the Alpina dashboard plaque and instrument cluster! He said if I could take it away the same day, I could have it for the scrap weight of just £75.So I got a mate to tow me away within the hour. When I got her home, I did a full appraisal of what I had bought.After I had gotten into the glovebox (broken catch) I was amazed to find all of its' handbooks , service history, old mot's,sales brochures, original build sheet and bill of sale !!!! I decided that a total ground up nut and bolt restoration was the only way to go , so I started collecting parts . It took 3 years to get the parts together (praise the lord for classic BMW.com)they did very well out of me, and also a huge thank you to Fritz Bitz in Taunton.I started the restoration in March 2011,and completed it in may 2014 after 2000+ hrs of work. I did all the work myself, except the black topcoat and the leather seats. I hope you all like the result of my labours.

Alpina BMW C1.3 1985 – This is an absolute classic and very Rare Car - I believe only 60 or so in RHD.
This is an excellent example of an early E30 3 Series Alpina C1, which has been loved and looked after over the years.
I have a book of receipts dating all the way back to 1985, including the original bill of sale, the car cost £18,500 back in 1985.
The car the car was used for daily commuting, pleasure and the occasional business trip. It has never been used for competition or racing, and has never been involved in an accident as far as I am aware.

Beautiful example of a fabulous car, purchased in 2009.
An unmolested 3.4 litre 6 speed manual, 54,800 miles, 2 door Roadster 'S' convertible. Metallic sapphire black bodywork with black 'oregon' leather interior and black hood. Naturally the car has the bespoke Alpina body styling and 19" Alpina Dynamic alloy wheels, all of which in my opinion are significantly better than the 'M'. The vehicle has the optional factory fitted 'Lux' pack including Integrated Sat-Nav, Bluetooth Phone Prep, Xenons, Cruise Control, BMW 6-disc CD, Alpina wind-deflector etc. Alpina trim (Alpina stitch and logo) electric leather seats are unmarked and are heated with driver memory function.
I could share the countless positive comments of the other registered owners which may be a bit boring to those reading, so to keep things brief and to the point, this is an amazing piece of engineering/ styling that is an absolute pleasure to drive and own. The limited numbers produced mean that owning one is quite exclusive and whenever I am out and about (excuse the vanity) people stop and look.

Here is my 05 Alpina Roadster 3.4S. I have owned it now for just over a month and love it to bits. It is my 4th performance bmw (past cars have included an e46 325i coupe, a 330i convertible, an e46 m3 and currently a 645i) and turns heads like no other !! Car Details:
I believe my car is totally standard. Originally owned by Ronan Keating, I purchased her in April 2004 with 2,800 miles recorded from Chelsea BMW and have used her sparingly, usually on sunny days!
Apart from a faulty starter motor, and a malfuntioning sat nav, 037 has been totally reliable. Unusually for me, as I normally change my cars every few months, I have NO intention of EVER selling.
I'm taking her (and my wife!) on a tour of the Champagne Region of France this summer, where I will be able to enjoy the abilties of this beautiful car properly.
